There are various options for Parents to volunteer with Westlock Preschool Society, including volunteering in the classroom or volunteering in various position(s) that support the day-to-day operations of the preschool.
Westlock Preschool Society requires the support of in-class volunteers from our community of families from time-to-time. The need for in-class volunteers will be determined by the Preschool Committee in consultation with the teachers based on a variety of factors. A schedule for in-class volunteers will be determined before each school year or as early as possible. Parents or caregivers, such as a grandparents or nannies, may act as the in-class volunteer.
Individuals volunteering in the classroom, who are not the child's guardian, including grandparents and other caregivers, are required to have a valid Criminal Record Check. Children not enrolled in the Westlock Preschool program are not allowed to come to class with a parent/caregiver volunteer, except for newborn children, with the approval of the teacher.
Operational support volunteer opportunities include becoming a Westlock Preschool Society Board Member or participation in activities to support the smooth operation of the classroom (craft prep/making playdough/deep cleaning toys).
